Greeks call the Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia (FYROM, its legal and internationally recognized [provisional] name) Skopia (Skopje) and its citizens Skopians. Greeks do not believe that anyone else other than themselves could be expected to accept, understand or sympathize with this terminology. But isn’t the word “Greek” the same kind of word: a pejorative Western term for Hellene?
...nothing changes for the better for Greece. On the contrary, the situation there is deteriorating.Unemployment has reached 17%,companies are closing down because heavy taxation has reduced consumption and measures to restart economic development are nowhere to be seen. The number of Greeks scavenging in garbage cans is increasing while the State is collapsing ,unable even to protect its citizens against increased daily criminality
Fear of the
possibility that the Greek people in a referendum will say NO to the Eurozone
and to controlled bankruptcy has led the entire political world into a state of
derangement. What have we not heard? That the referendum is anti-constitutional
, that it conflates different logics, that it is blackmail , that it is
misleading because there is no clear question to be posed, and various other
such inanities.
